Techmine’s New 5-Tonne Pulling Beam Successfully Completes Load Testing
By David Thomas 15/07/2026
Techmine Solutions has taken its lifting beam capabilities to the next level with the design and development of a new pulling beam rated to 5 tonnes.
The project was developed over several months and involved detailed CAD modelling, engineering calculations, finite element analysis, and design refinement. Each stage focused on ensuring the pulling beam would be safe, reliable, and practical for real-world operational requirements.
Once the design and manufacturing stages were completed, the pulling beam was taken to Certex Lifting for professional load testing.
The testing process provided an opportunity to verify that the physical product performed as expected under real-life loading conditions. It was also a valuable experience for the Techmine team to observe the testing process in the workshop and see the beam operating under load.
For engineers, there is a unique sense of satisfaction in watching a product progress from an initial concept on a computer screen to a fully manufactured and tested solution. Seeing the results of CAD modelling, engineering calculations, and FEA successfully validated through physical testing was a proud moment for everyone involved.
The successful load test represented the completion of months of design, analysis, collaboration, and manufacturing work. It also demonstrated the importance of combining digital engineering methods with practical testing to confirm product performance.
This achievement is another step forward in Techmine’s commitment to developing safe, dependable, and purpose-built lifting solutions for the mining and industrial sectors.
