A redesigned valve handling frame developed by Techmine Solutions that allows a valve to be lowered and automatically self-centred via gravity in a single hoist operation, eliminating the previous two-step procedure. Key improvements include swivel castors on all corners for easy maneuvering, enclosed ends to prevent calcium build-up, a tube-insert locking system for secure and user-friendly valve positioning, and reinforced structural elements throughout.
Problems Idenified
- Valve installation required a two-step procedure, a hoist to lower the valve onto the frame, then repositioned again to rotate it into the correct orientation.
- Fixed wheels made maneuvering the frame difficult when positioning the valve.
- Open ends caused calcium build-up in internal components, impeding the pivoting motion.
- Spring latches used to lock the valve in position were excessively heavy and prone to bending.
- The frame lacked sufficient structural integrity.
The Solution
- The pivot point was redesigned so gravity automatically self-centres the valve, eliminating the two-step hoist procedure.
- Swivel castors fitted to all corners greatly improved maneuverability.
- Open ends were enclosed, preventing calcium build-up and ensuring smooth pivoting.
